The Tri Cities Boating Club hosted our second annual July 4th (or there abouts) Pig Roast. Our XO, Fred Pinney, has once again set the bar for event planning. The pig roast was a great success with over 120 in attendance. Lakeview Marina owner and squadron member Tony Huff put forth a great effort with installation of a huge tent, woodchips covering a large area, and new picnic tables. The all-day smoked whole hog supplied by Lakeview was finger licking good and there were plenty of side dishes and desserts for all, organized by Norma Martin and her crew. Boat moorings were provided for all lake side comers as well as a swim area. 2 corn hole games were set up and even though rain curtailed the women’s corn hole tournament, the games continued for some under the tent as all attendees were able to stay dry and enjoy all the good food, music, dancing and general revelry. As our AO Glen put it, “What a great time was had by all!”
Fred wanted all our members to keep in mind that this kind of event is a great recruiting tool as a number of attendees agreed to join our Boating Club after enjoying all the fun.
Fred also wanted to let everyone know the same area is now available for personal or group event use. Reservations can be made by contacting Tony at 423-534-5854. For example, more wood chips are being added for our planned use during the July 15 Poker Run. Who says we can’t have fun on Boone Lake! Hope you all can come out and join the game. Thanks to Fred and all his crew for helping put on a great July celebration.
